When audio of Tom Cruise yelling at staff on the set of Mission Impossible 7 leaked, it shocked a lot of people. It now seems that members of the crew were also surprised and five of them have decided to leave the film.

Tom Cruise seemingly lost his cool when two members of the film crew for Mission Impossible 7 were too close to each other. The film star outlined the importance of the film, which resumed shooting two weeks ago in London, and the dangers of what they were doing. While some may agree with the sentiment, the approach was too aggressive for most people, and it has resulted in staff leaving the blockbuster production.

An inside source told The Sun:

“The first outburst was big but things haven’t calmed since. Tension has been building for months and this was the final straw. Since it became public there has been more anger and several staff have walked.

But Tom just can’t take any more after all the lengths they have gone to just to keep filming at all. He’s upset others aren’t taking it as seriously as him. In the end, he’s the one who carries the can.”

The original rant by Cruise told staff that ‘I don’t ever want to see it again, ever! And if you don’t do it you’re fired, if I see you do it again you’re f***ing gone.’ The crew seem to have taken the actor at his word and have now left the project.

Whether the following animosity has purely come from this outburst is unclear, but with the source suggesting that there is still aggressive behaviour on set, the Mission Impossible 7 locations may be an uncomfortable place to work.

In his original outburst, Cruise noted that he was on the phone to multiple sections of the filmmaking process. With this in mind, it may be wise for Cruise to delegate the role of producer, insurer, and health and safety to people who specialise in those fields. Whether this will be done or if the situation will improve remains to be seen.

Let’s hope getting this film made isn’t an impossible mission!
