This is annoying actually. My computer’s playing up because my dad keeps splashing me with water. I don’t know what I was thinking, writing this in the bath with him.
My home office aside, in a new series of TLC’s sMothered, 55-year-old mum Mary and her 19-year-old daughter Brittani, from Jensen Beach, Florida (obviously) revealed that they shower together every day.
In a clip from the TV show, you can see Mary and Brittani in the bath together, with Mary washing her hair, saying “ah, that feels so good“, as the water hits her and later:
“You need to tan or something, honey. You’re so white“.
Speaking of her shower times with her daughter, Mary said:
“I have been taking showers and helping Brittani since she was five.
“The best way to start our day is in the shower.
“I love her, and I don’t see anything wrong with it. I don’t believe I set out to have a relationship this close to Brittani, it’s something that was supposed to be“.
Meanwhile, Brittani seemed to echo this, saying:
“When my mom does simple things like washing my hair or my body, it makes me feel comforted.
“Plus, I’m only 19, I haven’t moved away. If that was the case, she would probably die from separation anxiety“.
According to Mary, this all started when Brittani when used to get panic attacks due to the hot water in the shower, and she had to comfort her daughter.
“That’s kind of how I started getting in the shower with her, just to comfort her because she would freak out.
“That grew into an every-other-day thing. When she was smaller, it was every day.“
Mary’s boyfriend Frank wants all of this to change though, saying that Brittani needs to move out, but Mary won’t have that, adding:
“It has caused some issues in my relationship, but he’s got to accept it. That’s how it is. He knows I love him, but I love my daughter more – she’s my life“.
Can’t say fairer than that.
You can, but whatever.
