The three mothers reside in the affluent town of Monterey, California, and have to deal with the rumours surrounding each and every member of the community, with things turning to mischief and worse, murder.
The first season had us on the edge of our seats throughout, and the critics loved it too, with the show getting an 8.6 rating on IMDb.
The good news is that a teaser for the second season dropped yesterday, and a 9th June release date has been confirmed.
Following the death of Perry Wright – Celeste’s abusive husband – the three women become suspects and in the new season have to deal with everything that comes with that.
The cast is joined by the infallible Meryl Streep, who plays Perry’s mother.
Things get understandably tense when we see Streep confront Witherspoon, saying:
“My son is dead, and I want to know what happened that night.
Very tempted to ask you, but I don’t think I would get the truth, would I?“
Zoë Kravitz (Bonnie Carlson), Shailene Woodley (Jane Chapman), and Laura Dern (Renata Klein) are all returning for the season that HBO said will focus on the “malignancy of lies, the durability of friendships, the fragility of marriage and, of course, the vicious ferocity of sound parenting.”
Only 55 days until you can watch it.

Alfie Powell joined as an apprentice and was probably hired because he was likely the only person who applied. He's been blagging his way through writing articles for four years now and he's definitely showing signs of slowing down. When not writing for The Hook, Alfie finds time to indulge in his favourite hobbies, such as drinking and sitting down.Follow
