An original Adam Sandler movie is coming to Netflix and will be directed by the same person who directed Little Nicky.
20 years after Little Nicky graced our screens with the longest fried chicken advert of all time, Adam Sandler is collaborating with Steven Brill again to bring us Hubie Halloween.
The official synopsis for Hubie Halloween – which will be rated PG-13 – reads:
“Good-natured but eccentric community volunteer Hubie Dubois (Sandler) finds himself at the center of a real murder case on Halloween night. Despite his devotion to his hometown of Salem, Massachusetts (and its legendary Halloween celebration), Hubie is a figure of mockery for kids and adults alike. But this year, something really is going bump in the night, and it’s up to Hubie to save Halloween.“
Is that a real name?
As you might have expected, the usual Sandler suspects – and Steve Buscemi – are back for this film, and the cast includes Kevin James, Julie Bowen, Maya Rudolph, Ray Liotta, Steve Buscemi, Rob Schneider, Michael Chiklis and Kenan Thompson.
The film finished shooting around this time last year bizarrely, with Sandler tweeting at the time:
“Last day of shooting Hubie Halloween. Thanks for all the hospitality this summer, Massachusetts. It was a blast. Have a great Labor Day weekend and see you next time“.
Sandler has Little Nicky, about 28 Hotel Transylvanias and now this – how many Halloween films does the man want?
You’ve got to hand it to him though, he knows his audience.
There’s no release date for Hubie Halloween or even a trailer, but you’d have to assume it would be coming out some time before October.
We’ll keep you updated.
