Of course, the LEGO Marvel games are great fun and the PS4 Spider-Man from last year is impeccable, but we need more. It’s not fair that DC get all of those Injustice games and Arkham Knights, and Marvel just have a bunch of mobile games.
To set our little minds at ease, Japanese video game giant Square Enix has revealed that an Avengers video game is in fact on the way and rather ingeniously, they’ve called it Marvel’s Avengers.
A lot of heads were put together for that one.
The news was broken yesterday – 29th May – when the official Twitter account for the game posted this message:
They revealed that we’ll be able to get a look at the game come the 10th of June, during E3 2019.
Until then we can only speculate about what the game will look like. In the meantime, however, some details are known, as Comicbook.com reported that while the game will be published by Square Enix, it will be developed by Crystal Dynamics. They’re most known for making the Tomb Raider games, which are pretty darn good.
The one that came out in 2013 was, anyway.
The Crystal Dynamics website states:
“The Avengers project is being designed for gamers worldwide and will be packed with all the characters, environments, and iconic moments that have thrilled longtime fans of the franchise.
Featuring a completely original story, it will introduce a universe gamers can play in for years to come.”
This sounds mean – and it probably is – but I really hope this game is a PlayStation exclusive. I don’t even know why, I just don’t like Xbox users having nice things.
Well I’m very excited for this. Happy days.
In the meantime, Insomniac, please release more DLC for Marvel’s Spider-Man.
