It’s a Friday afternoon, you’ve had an extremely long day at work, a really early start, traffic was an absolute nightmare and you cannot wait to get home to chill. It’s a pleasant evening and you want to sit out in the garden perhaps, with a nice, cold bev. You look in the cupboard and come across that new Tutti Frutti gin you picked up to try from Aldi.
You pour yourself a nice cup in your new IKEA gin glass and serve it with a generous slice of pink grapefruit and a twist of orange or go the extra mile by concocting a Tutti Frutti Spritz mixed with Aldi’s bestselling Organic Prosecco and fresh grapefruit juice, or even just whatever pop you have in the fridge…
Finally, you give it a good stir, take a pic for the ‘gram and alas, life is good again.
But in all seriousness, Aldi’s gin collection is BOOMING at the moment with the huge array of flavours ranging from Passionfruit, to Seville Orange and Persian Lime, to even Colour-changing gin! What on earth will they concoct next I wonder?
So the newest addition to the award-winning gin range is Tutti Frutti flavour that is due to hit stores from the 22nd of August.
The store is due to feature in its first ever National Spirits festival and Aldi has teamed up with Didsbury Gin to bring us all these wonderful new flavours for around £13.99 a bottle. Didsbury, a Manchester-based gin company that is even stocked at Harvey Nichols and Selfridges, has been in cahoots with 2015 Masterchef Champion, Simon Wood, who came up with the new gin flavour exclusive to Aldi.
Julie Ashfield, Managing Director of Buying at Aldi UK, added: “As flavoured gin shows no signs of slowing down, we’re thrilled to be partnering with Didsbury Gin to bring shoppers more unique flavour combinations like Simon Wood’s MasterChef winning dessert, Tutti Frutti.
“This innovative new addition to our gin range reflects our commitment to ensuring our customers enjoy the best quality products, without breaking the bank.”
The Tutti Frutti flavour was inspired by Woods’ famous Tutti Frutti dessert. Woods states:
“Tutti-Frutti literally translates as all the fruits. My dessert from the MasterChef final is my very own Citrus Tutti-Frutti.
“It’s made up of all the citrus fruit, lemon, lime, ruby grapefruit, vanilla & passion fruit. A great mix for a really tasty gin.”
Aldi is due to showcase some of its other exquisite gin flavours at the National Spirit festival and I hope it continues its success (making more fun flavours for us to try)!
We’ll all be gin connoisseurs before we know it!
Aldi are now even selling gin bundles that you can give as gifts! They’ve got it all figured out.
