If you think you’ve read this before, don’t worry, you’re not imagining things, as April the giraffe first hit headlines in 2017 when she gave birth to a calf named Tajiri.
Not since Harambe has an animal gone so viral, with the world collectively holding its breath to watch the new arrival some two years ago.
I’m not exaggerating by the way; the birth drew more than 232 million YouTube live views during a seven-week period.
The power of the internet.
But April’s up the duff once again – she’s not messing about – and she’s about to drop any second now.
Animal Adventure Park, April’s home since 2015, said Saturday evening that all signs indicate that April could go into labor within the next 12 hours: “Without question we are there – it’s a matter of when.”
It’s now Monday and we’re still waiting but her keepers say she is “ready to go.”
Thankfully, the adventure park has set up a live stream on their YouTube page where you can watch April on their giraffe cam as she nears the late stages of her pregnancy.
It’s not gross, it’s nature. Tune in with the rest of the world below and watch a miracle unfold before your very eyes.
**If it takes another six hours and you’re in a rush there’s literally nothing I can do to speed the process up.**
All the best, April!
