Armie Hammer is at the centre of a sex scandal after an Instagram account leaked DMs reportedly from the actor.

They included themes of cannibalism, rape, breaking bones and more.

The star split from his wife earlier last year, and the Daily Mail reports she is ‘shocked and sickened’ by the alleged messages and ‘believes’ the women stepping forward, according to a close friend.

His name started trending on Twitter on Sunday night. A series of graphic Instagram DMs were leaked publicly by an anonymous, now-private account, called House Of Effie, who claimed the messages were from Hammer.

The actor is yet to speak publicly on the matter.

The messages date back to 2016, with some as recently as February 2020, covering times when Armie was still married to his wife Elizabeth Chambers.

The pair ended their relationship after 10 years in July last year. The Daily Mail quotes a source close to Chambers as saying she was aware of his infidelities.

Her friend says: ‘Armie appears to be a monster. A lot of these women have reached out to Elizabeth and although she didn’t want to admit it to herself at first, she knows now they are speaking the truth.”

‘Armie had a whole other side to him that she wasn’t aware of. Whether it was always there and he kept it hidden, or something happened that changed him completely, she doesn’t know.’

As well as the graphic messages referencing cannibalism, BDSM and rape, the account also attempted to prove their authenticity by sharing photos they also alleged to be from Hammer. In one picture he is seen with his hand around his throat,  presumably to imitate choking himself. Other pictures include photographs of a man’s hand with tattoos on the ring finger, that look similar to a tattoo Hammer has.

In one message, the actor allegedly writes to the woman: ‘I am 100% a cannibal. I want to eat you.’

The account that shared the images, wrote: ‘Women approached me with their affair stories as we talked overwhelmed with grief for days and nights without sleeping or eating, with some ending up in the ER.’

‘We collectively decided we have to speak out after how we were treated and seeing how the women in 2020 were being treated by him. We cannot allow more women to endure what we are going through in the future.’

Writer Jessica Ciencin Henriquez is an ex of Hammer, and says she believes the messages ‘are real’. She wrote: ‘It takes an army to hide a predator’, referencing the allegations.

Henriquez tweeted: ‘If you are still questioning whether or not those Armie Hammer DMs are real (and they are) maybe you should start questioning why we live in a culture willing to give abusers the benefit of the doubt instead of victims.’

She later wrote on Instagram: ‘It takes an army to hide a predator. Behind every abuser is a team of people working hard to cover up the trail.’

Hammer has previously talked about his sex life in interviews. In one with Playboy Magazine in 2013, he admitted he has toned things down since getting married. He said: ‘Well, if you’re married to a feminist as I am, then it’s…. I don’t know how much we can put here without my parents being embarrassed, but I used to like to be a dominant lover.”

“I liked the grabbing of the neck and the hair and all that. But then you get married and your sexual appetites change. And I mean that for the better – it’s not like I’m suffering in any way. But you can’t really pull your wife’s hair. It gets to a point where you say, “I respect you too much to do these things that I kind of want to do.”’
