Let’s face it, 2020 hasn’t been the best year so far, but at least we’ll have some brilliant TV to watch what with Bake Off,  Strictly, I’m A Celebrity and now Dancing On Ice.

Who needs a night out when you can stay in and watch all of this?

Rebekah Vardy is the ninth contestant to be announced so far for the ice skating competition.

She said: “I’m so ready for the sequins and full glam squad. After months of lockdown, it’ll be nice to get the glam on.”

It’s definitely more glamorous than I’m A Celebrity, which Rebekah joined back in 2017.

Rebekah isn’t a newbie on the ice though, she told Good Morning Britain earlier:

“My dad taught me how to stand up on a pair of skates at least when I was about 7 years old,” she explained. “We used to go skating a lot when he used to pick us up after my mum and dad split up. We used to go and stay with him for the weekend. He used to take us to the local ice rink, so it’s a really fun family thing for us to have done together. I’m really excited, actually.”

Rebekah made the headlines again last year after Coleen Rooney turned super-sleuth and alleged that Vardy had been leaking stories about her.

During her interview this morning, she vowed to clear her name.

Piers said: “Now I know that there’s something that we can’t talk about but everyone else is talking about. So the thing that we can’t talk about, is there anything you can say about it?”
Rebekah responded: “You’re so predictable. I just knew that was going to come up. Look, we tried to sort things out amicably, it just didn’t work. I understand that people think it is ridiculous, but what was I meant to do? I need to clear my name, I want to clear my name, and I will do whatever that takes. I hope that it will be resolved soon. It’s just one of the things that has to go through the process, unfortunately.”

She joins Myleene Klass, Joe-Warren Plant, Denise van Outen, Faye Brookes, Jason Donovan, Sonny Jay, Graham Bell, and Colin Jackson in the Dancing On Ice line-up.

What do you think of the line-up so far?
