Finally, a reason to walk back into a Debenhams after ten years!
Okay, that was shady.
My favourite type of advent calendar is one I can get drunk on, so this news is music to my ears.
The indulgent Gordon’s Premium Pink Advent Calendar is exclusive to Debenhams and advertised as the perfect way for pink gin fans to celebrate the Christmas countdown.
Alright, here I go.
For £13, gin lovers can enjoy 23 strawberry cream dark chocolates throughout the December countdown and then on Christmas Eve, celebrate with a 50ml Gordon’s Premium Pink Distilled Gin bottle (ABV: 37.5%).
Okay, I’ll be honest, I was somewhat disappointed to find out you had to wait 23 days to get to the good stuff. For some reason I assumed you’d get a gin-soaked choccie behind every door that you could eat in the morning without judgement.
I can’t be the only one that thought that, right?
Also the chocolates in the calendar look like Jaffa Cakes to me. So no.
Nevertheless, pink gin lovers seem to have responded positively to the product, as the Advent calendar has now completely sold out online, according to the Debenhams website.
Apparently, the only way to get your hands on one now is to make your way down to your local Debenhams and see if there’s one stocked on the shelf. Here’s a cheeky store locator for you, if I haven’t managed to put you off yet.
I’m not really impressed. Can you tell?
Also £13 is more expensive than a large bottle of gin from a supermarket, so no again.
This is the level of advent calendar I was expecting from the Debenhams one.
This 24-door advent calendar from Costco gifts gin-lovers with a different 5cl bottle of gin every day and genuinely looks stunning.
The item description reads:
“Welcome to an exciting countdown to Christmas. This Gin Advent Calendar contains 24 x 5cl miniature bottles, a hand-picked selection of gins which will give you the opportunity to sample your way to Christmas.”
There’s a lot to get through too, with the options being Aber Falls Welsh Orange Marmalade Gin, Beefeater Pink London Dry Gin, Edinburgh Gin’s Plum & Vanilla Liqueur, Peaky Blinder Spiced Dry Gin, Sipsmith Sloe Gin, The Lakes Original Gin, Warner Edwards Dry Gin, and What Lies Beneath Honey Liqueur and more.
You can order yours from the Costco website. And they haven’t sold out either. IJS.
If you’re not much of a drinker, but still fancy splashing out on an eccentric Advent calendar this year – oh, and if you happen to have a spare £104,000 lying around the house, too – why not consider a Tiffany & Co.’s advent calendar?
Anyone else remember when advent calendars were just advent calendars?
