Days after she gave birth to daughter Daisy Dove, Katy Perry posted a photo poking fun at herself as she was missing the VMAs to instead live the life of an exhausted mum.
The photo didn’t go unnoticed, with many praising the 35-year-old singer/songwriter for showing the more unglamorous side of her life, and one of those people was Piers Morgan.
Though he’s not at all well known for praising people in any capacity, Morgan used his platform as GMB host to shower the Roar singer with compliments.
“Shout out to Katy Perry. Most celebrities, when they have a baby they lie and cheat about when they had the baby and they suddenly appear a week later looking absolutely body perfect.
“They play a game where they pretend they’re pregnant before they are and the whole thing’s a total scam.
“Katy Perry has come out having just given birth and she’s got her breast pump bra, her big maternity pants – Garraway style – she looks fantastic, and that’s what a real mum looks like“.
Others were quick to praise her for showing the reality of being a new mum.
Thank you, @katyperry for being so REAL. No one should be expected to look like they are going to a gala event 24/7, especially new or expectant moms!

The announcement of the new baby came only a few days ago via UNICEF’s Instagram.
“We are floating with love and wonder from the safe and healthy arrival of our daughter.⠀
“But we know we’re the lucky ones and not everyone can have a birthing experience as peaceful as ours was. Communities around the world are still experiencing a shortage of healthcare workers and every eleven seconds a pregnant woman or newborn dies, mostly from preventable causes. Since COVID-19 many more newborn lives are at risk because of the increased lack of access to water, soap, vaccines and medicines that prevent diseases. As parents to a newborn, this breaks our hearts, as we empathize with struggling parents now more than ever.⠀
“As UNICEF Goodwill Ambassadors, we know UNICEF is there, on the ground, doing whatever it takes to make sure every expecting mother has access to a trained health worker and access to quality healthcare. In celebration of the heart we know our daughter already has, we have set up a donation page to celebrate DDB’s arrival. By supporting them, you are supporting a safe start to life and reimagining a healthier world for every child. We hope your ♥️ can bloom with generosity.⠀
“Katy & Orlando“.
Amazing to see!
