I’m ashamed to say that I spent the entirety of 2018 single and even though it’s early days in 2019, it’s again looking like it might not be my year.
2020 here I come!!
People say things to me like “oh you only find love when you’re absolutely not looking for it,” so I stopped going out and I deleted Tinder. I’ve got to say, absolutely horrible advice.
It’s got to the point for me where speed dating doesn’t look so bad and if I was really going to push the boat out, I’d sign up for Love Island or something. I’ve never watched it, but from what I can tell, all you need to do is get a six pack and pioneer new dating terminology and you’re a shoe in. I can do some crunches and say something like ‘apple-picking’ when referring to sex if I really wanted to..?
That seems like a commitment though, and I’ve got a career (that isn’t appearing at Bournemouth club nights) to maintain, so something more short term could work better. First Dates should fill that void.
Luckily, the producers are now looking for more people to appear in the new seasons of First Dates and First Dates Hotel, and you can apply right now, if you like…
In a statement, the producers wrote:
“Our award winning Channel 4 dating series, First Dates and First Dates Hotel, are looking for singletons searching for love.
Each episode will feature a number of intimate first dates. In-depth interviews will help the viewers get to know the daters. Discreet cameras will record the date from start to finish – from first impressions, through all the awkward, heart-warming and funny moments, to the end of the date and the discussion about whether or not a second date is on the cards.
If you’re looking for love, apply now by completing and submitting the following application form.“
Said application form can be found here…
I don’t mean to put you off with my video choices; there’s just very little coverage for amicable dates… except for that one where the woman had alopecia. That ended nicely.
If you are considering applying, you need adhere to a few requirements.
First and foremost, and rather obviously, you have to be 18-years-old or over. After that, you have to put in your sexuality, job-status, marital-status, body type and height which, bizarrely, has to be between 3’11” and 6’6″.
Alongside being eligible in those fields, you’ll have to send along a picture of yourself, as well as a short video. If you’re not comfortable with that, then maybe having a date televised on national TV isn’t for you.
Finally, you’ll then be expected to link all of your social media pages and I think that’s it.
And that’s that. Will you apply? Only you can answer that one.
