Yep, just one episode to go until Game Of Thrones is naught but a memory, resigned to the annals of TV history where it will no doubt take its place in the pantheon of great shows and series.
Most of the talk now revolves around Daenerys and who’ll be the one to kill her, because, let’s face it, there’s no way she’s making it out of next episode alive.
In the Game of Thrones season 8, episode 5 trailer, it seems like Arya Stark is on a mission, leading many to believe she’ll be the one to kill Daenerys.
But before that, it’s looking like she may get rid of Grey Worm.
Reddit user hoowuurd points to the fact that Arya still has the ability to become anybody she wants to by killing them and wearing their face like a mask – a skill she learned under the tutelage of assassin Jaqen H’ghar in Braavos – enabling her to become a “Faceless Man.”
So Arya will kill him, use his face to get close to Daenerys and then kill her.
It’s entirely plausible:
“I think Arya will go to Jon about killing Dany, and he will agree with her as although he loves her he had a HUGE realisation in this episode. As ‘his queen’ was murdering the innocents and he still not only refused to do the same, but ordered others to stop.
“The obvious problem is getting close to Dany as well as killing her without it being frowned upon by the realm. This will lead to Arya killing Grey Worm, as I mentioned he’s been chaotic, plus he’s Dany’s right-hand and slightly starting to go crazy after he lost his love.
“Arya will use Grey Worm’s face to kill Dany, and set it up to look as if either Grey Worm killed Dany and then himself, or just flee the scene and leave it a mystery to the realm.”
After Daenerys began burning King’s Landing, Grey Worm made the first kill on the ground and looks to have gone just as mad as Daenerys, so it makes sense that he’ll be one to die.
It also wouldn’t be surprising if Arya did kill Daenerys given that it was fated by Melisandre she would kill a green-eyed person.
She told a young Arya: “I see a darkness in you. And in that darkness, eyes staring back at me. Brown eyes, blue eyes, green eyes. Eyes sealed shut forever. We will meet again.”
She then repeated this cryptic message in the Battle Of Winterfell episode, leading many fans to believe Cersei was next on her kill list.
But with Cersei dead, it looks like Daenerys will be that person. Arya’s always insisted on killing ‘The Queen’ – it just so happens she’s a ‘Mad Queen’.
There’s also the fact Arya looks destined to fulfil the Azor Ahai prophecy – destroying ice and fire – so you’d think she’d be the one to kill Daenerys.
She’s clearly been the MVP of this season, anyway. She’s on a roll!
We’ll find out soon enough.
