The former Mandalorian actress has spoken out against Disney and said that there has been a history of bullying.
‘Abhorrent And Unacceptable’ Social Media Posts
Carano was recently fired from Star Wars spin-off The Mandalorian after she posted ‘abhorrent and unacceptable’ content on social media.
Calls for Carano to be sacked from the show began after the actress posted an anti-Semitic story on her Instagram.
Carano, a vocal Trump supporter, shared an offensive TikTok post on her story. It drew comparison between the treatment of Republicans in the US to that of Jews in Nazi Germany.
The now deleted post on Instagram read: “Jews were beaten in the streets, not by Nazi soldiers but by their neighbours … even by children …
“Because history is edited, most people today don’t realise that to get to the point where Nazi soldiers could easily round up thousands of Jews, the government first made their own neighbours hate them simply for being Jews.
“How is that any different from hating someone for their political views.”
Lucasfilm made a statement which said: “Gina Carano is not currently employed by Lucasfilm and there are no plans for her to be in the future.
“Nevertheless, her social media posts denigrating people based on their cultural and religious identities are abhorrent and unacceptable.”
The actress’s agency UTA have also let her go.
The actress wrote: “[He] helped me understand why people were putting them in their bios. I didn’t know before but I do now. I won’t be putting them in my bio but good for all you who choose to.”
Now, the actress has accused Disney of bullying.
In an interview with Ben Shapiro, she said: “I’ve been through so much, and I’ve seen so much now, clearly, of the bullying that’s been taking place, and I saw it before.
“I’m not the only one that’s ever been bullied by this company, and I know that so deeply.”
She continued “I could share a story which would turn things around in the media but I can’t because it would sell out a friend… Everyone is afraid of losing their job.”
According to Carano, once Disney “point their guns at you” it’s “only a matter of time.”
This is not the first time Carano has caused controversy online. She previously made light of the use of pronouns by woke Twitter users, by including the words “beep/bop/boop” in her Twitter bio.
After fans called her up for the transphobic action, Carano retracted her words.
She later said her Mandalorian co-star Pedro Pascal had helped her to “understand” the issue.
Petition To Rehire Carano
Logan Norfleet, started the petition and it reads: ‘Her recent (now deleted) tweet responsible was one expressing her dismay for the way conservatives are being treated by liberals today, and to do this, she compared it to the way Jews were being treated by Nazis in World War II.’
It adds: ‘What she said may have been a little extreme, and I can even see why some people may have been offended, but her tweet was not made to incite violence or to express discrimination or hatred of any sort to any particular group.’
