Grand Theft Auto V is absolutely free for now, thanks to Epic Games who have decided to be nice for a bit.
I say that like Epic Games aren’t nice usually, but they seem fine, don’t they? They like handing free things out I guess.
Up until the 21st of May, Epic Games are letting PC gamers get their hands on the game that’s nearly seven years old for free.
Grand Theft Auto V is immensely popular game and one that still sells incredibly well.
Even all of these years after its release, it was the second biggest bestseller on the UK market during the week ending 9th May. The only game ahead of it is Animals Crossing: New Horizons, which has captured the imaginations of everyone.
Meanwhile, over in America, the game has stayed in the top 20 bestsellers for the last 80 months. That’s far better than Wet Wet Wet’s Love is All Around, which stayed in the top 20 for far too long.
Thank you, Richard Curtis.
You already know what Grand Theft Auto V is all about, but in case you needed reminding, the official synopsis for the game reads:
“When a young street hustler, a retired bank robber and a terrifying psychopath find themselves entangled with some of the most frightening and deranged elements of the criminal underworld, the US government and the entertainment industry, they must pull off a series of dangerous heists to survive in a ruthless city in which they can trust nobody, least of all each other“.
Since its release, acres of DLC has come to the world of GTA V and stuff gets pretty sci-fi.
You can check out Grand Theft Auto V and loads of other games on the Epic Games Store website here.
I was really hoping Jedi: Fallen Order would be as open-world as GTA V and while it’s still a fantastic game, there’s not a lot you can do other than the actual story. I’m hoping the next game is more free than that.
A bit more GTA, if you know what I mean.
Oh well. Until Jedi: Growing Order – or whatever it’ll be called – comes out, then you can get your hands on Grand Theft Auto V for free.
