After the news that James Gunn was un-fired from directing the third Guardians of the Galaxy film, people have been wondering just when we’ll get to watch it.

It was already known that after he was initially fired by Disney for offensive tweets from ten years ago, Marvel were still going to go ahead with the script that Gunn wrote, as various cast members threatened to leave if things went differently.

However, now that Gunn’s back and Avengers: Endgame is out of the way, things are set to be kicked into gear as soon as possible.

First and foremost, Marvel Studios are starting production on The EternalsBlack Widow and Shang-Chi this year, while James Gunn works on DC’s soft reboot of Suicide Squad.

After that, in 2020, Guardians of the Galaxy 3 goes into production. With that said, since pre-production appears like it could clash with Gunn’s work with DC, there is a chance that it could be pushed back.

Right, if you haven’t seen Avengers: Endgame, then click away because I’m going to talk about what we could expect from Guardians of the Galaxy 3 and a lot of that is building on the most recent MCU entry…

Not much is known about the film at all, except that the five original Guardians are expected to return. This includes Gamora, despite what happened to her in Infinity War and Endgame, so that could be interesting.

As for Thor, who looked to have joined the Guardians at the end of Endgame in some kind of Asguardians of the Galaxy setup, it’s unknown whether or not he will be part of the film.

If he is, I do hope he’s back to his normal shape.

Not to body-shame or anything, but while his transformation in Endgame was funny, it might get a but tedious if Thor being fat with unkempt hair is repetitively used as a comic device. We get it, he’s like The Dude in The Big Lebowski now. Ha ha.

What this means for the Thor franchise though is anybody’s guess.

My thoughts are that since Thor more or less passed the rank of Asguardian king down to Valkyrie, the next Taika Waititi written and directed “Thor” film will be a standalone with Tessa Thompson leading. That would be cool.

Back to Guardians, I also hope Groot is fully grown again. He was cute as a little sapling, but his teenage form doesn’t compare to the character we got to love in the first Guardians film.
