More bad news for Harry and Meghan.

In the wake of their Oprah interview, their popularity has taken a nosedive.

It’s now been revealed that their approval rating in the UK has fallen to its lowest level ever after the Duke of Edinburgh’s funeral.

The poll was carried out by YouGov, about the Royal Family’s popularity.

Harry and Meghan were the only members who did not see a ‘favourable uptick’ after the funeral.

More than 1,700 Brits were asked for their opinion.

Around 49% of those surveyed said they disliked Prince Harry, up from 48%.

Meanhile, 61% said they disliked Meghan, compared with her previous score of 58%.

Approval ratings also fell.

Some 43% of people said they liked Harry, compared with 45% before. A painful 29% approved of Meghan, down from 31%.

Good News

There’s some good news at least! Neither of them are the least popular.

That dubious title goes to Prince Andrew, unsurprisingly.

Of those surveyed, 79% of Brits  said they dislike Prince Andrew. That’s down from 81% in March.

Prince Edward is the Queen and Philip’s youngest son. It’s good news for him as he saw the largest increase in positive opinion, with 54% of saying they like him compared to 41% in March.

Prince Charles has also seen his popularity increase. The number of people who dislike him fell nine points to 33%.

Princess Anne is also more popular than ever, with 70% compared to 64% previously.

So what about Her Majesty? Some 85% of the public have a positive opinion of the Queen, up from 80%.

Unlike Harry and Meghan, Prince William and Kate Middleton grew in popularity.

They are the second and third most popular royals after the Queen.

Kate Middleton

According to a royal biographer,  Kate Middleton had concerns about the fact Prince Harry had not met his in-laws prior to his wedding,

Ingrid Seward is the Editor-in-chief of Majesty Magazine. She claims Kate was worried by the fact Meghan appeared embarrassed by her family.

Harry brought Meghan to William and Kate’s home following their engagement. They praised Meghan for playing with George and Charlotte and joining in with the family.

Later, when he guest-edited Radio 4’s Today programme, he said his loved ones were like “the family (Meghan) never had”.

Unsurprisingly, this upset his soon-to-be-in-laws.

Ms Seward told The Sun : “She could not understand why Harry had never met his future father-in-law, nor why Meghan, who Harry assured was The One and ‘ticked all his boxes’, appeared embarrassed about her family and unwilling to speak about them apart from her mother.”

It’s been announced this week that Harry and Meghan will be appearing at a concert aiming to raise funds for vaccinations around the world. They’ll be appearing alongside J.Lo and Selena Gomez.

Are you surprised by their lack of popularity?
