Usually it’s just a bunch of materialistic, vacuous people sharing their enviable lives off, or talking about their latest Primark haul or how best to clean their Balenciagas (my girlfriend watched a vlog of this very topic yesterday.)
The point is, that whatever they do generally gains a lot of attention, but when you’re an influencer who decides to have your stepson’s baby, well that’s when you go truly viral.
Last month, 35 year old Russian influencer Marina Balmasheva came under fire after revealing she was in a relationship with her 20-year-old stepson, and now she’s gone one better by admitting their having a kid with her ex-husband’s son.
Per news.com.au, Marina first met her current boyfriend, Vladimir “Vova” Shavyrin, 13 years ago when he was just seven years old and she was 22. Vladimir is the son of Marina’s ex-husband, Alexey Shavyrin, with whom she lived with for over 10 years before their relationship ended in divorce.
Oh, and during their marriage, Marina helped raise stepson Vladimir, which makes the whole thing even weirder.
Now, after entering a relationship with her stepson, Balmasheva has revealed that the couple is expecting a baby.
In a post translated by news.com.au, Balmasheva writes: “Tired of hiding. I know that the deadline is still small. That ultrasound with the heart is yet to come.
“But I want you to know that everything is possible in this world. We are 4 weeks old and yes, that is why we decided to get married.”
It comes after she posted a picture of herself with him 13 years ago when he was aged seven to show off his transformation.
Alongside the photo, she included a more recent picture of the happy couple cuddling.
‘You never know how life will turn out and when you will meet a person who makes you smile,’ Maria recently commented.
‘I know that some will judge us, others will support us, but we are happy and wish you to be as well.’
In the caption, Marina defending their relationship by saying how the couple are very much in love, and that they are not only currently planning their own wedding, but also plan on having children in the future.
Speaking out about his ex-wife and son’s relationship, Alexey told Russian talk show Pryamoy Efir that he found out about their relationship in March of this year (translated). He said (translated):
“I could not fall asleep one night when I heard them having sex. Then I understood that Marina was cheating on me with my son.
“A few minutes later she just came and lay down next to me. I didn’t tell her a word that night.”
A part of me wants to say ‘live and let live’, ‘love is blind’, and ‘who are we to judge?’ but I can’t help being very judgemental and thinking this is very odd.
Strange times we’re in.
