JK Rowling was beloved for writing the Harry Potter series but her recent comments have led to an outcry from fans – the plotline of her new book has furthered criticism.

Author, JK Rowling, has been repeatedly called out for her anti-trans comments in recent months and is now facing accusations of a transphobic plotline in her new novel.

The book is a continuation of the Cormoran Strike novels and is called Troubled Blood. The novel has the detective inspect a cold case and hunt down a cis-gendered man who dresses as a female to kill female victims. Critics have been concerned about the contents of the novel and many are outraged by the concept of the book.

Some have even suggested that the comments of Rowling earlier in the summer were part of a promotional campaign for the book.

Others have compared the author unfavourably to characters from the Harry Potter series.

The message of this book doesn’t seem to sit well with many.
