It’s safe to say 2020 has not been a good year for Johnny Depp. He lost his libel case against The Sun and has been forced to step down from major film roles.

Johnny was due to repeat his role of Grindelwald in the third Fantastic Beasts film, but that’s not the only role he’s lost.

Disney reportedly blocked him from making a cameo appearance in the upcoming Pirates Of The Caribbean film.  New allegations claim Disney distanced itself from Depp even before he lost the high-profile case.

He previously played Captain Jack Sparrow in all five Pirates Of The Caribbean films from 2006 to 2017.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, Disney “balked”  at the suggestion of bringing back Depp for a cameo in the new spin-off. The new film is reported to be starring Margot Robbie.

Disney allegedly thought it would damage their family-friendly image.

The report also alleged that producer Jerry Bruckheimer has been one of Depp’s ‘biggest champions’. The Hollywood Reporter claims that Bruckheimer tried to cover for Depp, saying his finger injury happened because “he got it caught in a car door”. Depp had previously claimed the injury was caused by Heard.

A petition has been set up in a bid to bring Depp back as Captain Jack Sparrow. More than 350,000 people have signed it already.

The petition read: “They have to bring him back to rule the seas again or we will never watch any Pirates of the Caribbean movie without our Captain.”

Elsewhere, a petition to have Depp’s ex-wife Amber Head removed from Aquaman 2 has now reached more than 1.7 million signatures.

The petition claims: ‘Since Heard’s divorce from Johnny Depp, she has systematically crusaded to ruin Depp in Hollywood.’

There have also been rumours that Heard may join Margot Robbie in the Pirates spin-off.

Do you think Depp should be allowed back?
