The movie world has been inside a self-imposed purgatory since the pandemic struck, with countless films and TV shows being delayed due to halts in production over safety fears.

However, things in the film bizz are slowly starting to resume, and for dino-fans, that means filming for Jurassic World 3 is back underway.

Sam Neill, star of the original 1993 film Jurassic Park, confirmed the news, taking to social media yesterday (3rd August) to say: “Tomorrow I’m back in The Grant Hat and into the Whole Jurassic World. Terror knows no bounds.”

He’s now followed this up with a picture of the hat he wore in the original movie:

Original players Jeff Goldblum, Sam Neil and Laura Dern are all involved in the upcoming project, reprising their roles from Jurassic Park as Dr. Ellie Satler, Dr. Alan Grant, and Dr. Ian Malcolm respectively.

They’ll be joining forces with Jurassic World stars Chris Pratt and Bryce Dallas Howard to take down the over-sized lizards, who’ll no doubt be causing a nuisance once again.

They never learn…

Previously, Chris Pratt, who stars in both 2015’s Jurassic World and 2018’s sequel, Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom as hunky ethologist Owen Grady, spilled the beans about the ‘threequel’ to Variety:

Man, I can’t tell you anything, but I can tell you it’s going to blow your mind.

“It’s going to be the biggest and best yet. They spared no expense and they’re bringing everybody back.”

He also later told Ellen:

The script is unbelievable.

“I can’t wait.

“It’s got pretty much everybody in it.

“Maybe I just blew it, but I don’t care. All the cast from the original ‘Jurassic Park’ is coming back.

“It’s going to feel very much like how ‘Endgame’ brought everything together for Marvel.”

Pratt is clearly bursting with excitement for this third Jurassic World flick, as this isn’t the first time the star has blabbed to the press about the upcoming film.

He told MTV News:

“When I heard the pitch, I was blown away. I can’t believe they found a way to deliver on the promise of the end of ‘Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom’… The island is blown up.

“The animals are out. We can’t put ’em back in the box. What are we gonna do? How is – not only these dinosaurs, but this technology moving forward – going to affect the planet? And we jump forward, it’s like, ‘Oh! Oh right! Oh damn.’”

Jurassic World 3 has a release date of 11 June 2021.
