Kanye West has revealed his latest genius invention that will take the world by storm in the shape of Jesus Tok; a Christian version of TikTok.
Kanye West is unusual in that as soon as he does something new, we all forget about the last crazy thing he did. By all accounts his latest brainwave is less controversial than his more recent ones, but it’s still pretty weird.
Regardless of how you feel about it, we all know what TikTok is and over the last year we’ve all become much more aware of the app, but that doesn’t mean it can’t be improved. Which is presumably why Kanye West is pushing the idea of Jesus Tok.
Essentially, as a Christian dad, Kanye likes the idea of TikTok, but wants his kids to be able to watch something a little more PG. They’re going to be in for one hell of a shock when they eventually get around to listening to his music.
In two Tweets, the rapper/designer/whatever it is he does now wrote:
“A VISION JUST CAME TO ME…JESUS TOK I WAS WATCHING TIK TOK WITH MY DAUGHTER AND AS A CHRISTIAN FATHER I WAS DISTURBED BY A LOT OF THE CONTENT BUT I COMPLETELY LOVED THE TECHNOLOGY,
“WE PRAY WE CAN COLLABORATE WITH TIK TOK TO MAKE A CHRISTIAN MONITORED VERSION THAT FEELS SAFE FOR YOUNG CHILDREN AND THE WORLD IN JESUS NAME AMEN“.
Good to know that Kanye loves the technology of video-sharing. It’s remarkable that someone didn’t think of it sooner.
You’d think this would be pretty easy for TikTok to implement, as YouTube pretty much do the same thing with their YouTube Kids app, which stops kiddiwinks from seeing anything untoward (at least it’s supposed to).
Let’s hope some middle ground can be reached, but let’s also hope that he comes to the realisation that Jesus Tok is a horrible name.
