I have some good news for you all, KFC are adding even more food to their menu, and I say all because everyone loves a KFC? Don’t they?? The gigantic geniuses have changed their menu for the first time in a while, and they certainly have not disappointed.
The cheesy addition follows the meltdown that occurred in the UK when KFC revealed they would be selling mashed potatoes.
But who wants thus when you can have creamy macaroni, covered in cheese and scattered with crispy pieces of OG recipe chicken. I’m not the biggest fan of the classic macaroni cheese, but that even sounds mouth-watering to me.
Added to their menus at the end of August, the mac ‘n’ cheese reportedly contains a three-cheese blend, topped with popcorn chicken, making it one of the most delicious options on the menu, below the Boneless Banquet of course.
“Mac and Cheese has a cult-like following, and bowl food is a trend that isn’t going away anytime soon. So, it made perfect sense to call up a favourite side dish to the big leagues, in a way that only we could, with Mac and Cheese Bowls”, Andrea Zahumensky, KFC’s US chief marketing officer said in a statement.
The release is a late reply to Chic-Fil-A’s own mac and cheese, which has already stolen headlines earlier this year. However, fans of KFC will certainly be relieved to have something else to make them even less healthy.
The introduction of both led to somewhat of a war on social media. Yep, 2019 wars are all about mac ‘n’ cheese. Following some shade being thrown on Twitter, Boston Market responded by mocking KFC and Chick-Fil-A suggesting that their food is a “mediocre” compared to theirs.
KFC were also in the news recently over their vegan chicken wings and nuggets.
A KFC in Atlanta, Georgia, has gone into coalition with Beyond Meat, a California-based company that creates meat free meat to appeal to vegan consumers that had previously viewed the world’s favourite fried chicken outlet as a house of horror.
Their Beyond Fried Chicken comes with the tagline “a Kentucky fried miracle”, with the nuggets being presented in green rather than red and carrying the promise that what’s inside is “still finger lickin’ good”.
I can already hear the choruses of ‘WTF is meat free meat?‘ The easy answer is that it’s meat made from plants.
Yes. Meat. Made from plants. Which isn’t really meat at all. Right?
