M&S can always be relied upon to release some weird and wonderful foodstuffs.

Last week we had the news of the Percy Pig Pies, and now they’re coming under fire for selling pots of “scraps” for £1.05.

A much-loved favourite addition from a trip to the chippy, scraps are the little spare bits of batter that people love to crunch on, digging them out of the bottom of the bag.

Until now you’d have to go to your nearest chip shop to get your fix, also known as batter bits, gribbles, scramptions, scrumps, or dubs.

Some have been accusing M&S of the “gentrification” of scraps.

Most people are cross because they usually come for free from a chippy.

Would you buy them?
