Only days after a man filmed himself licking items on a supermarket shelf whilst saying: “Who’s afraid of coronavirus?”, it’s been announced that same man has been arrested on terror charges by police in Warrenton, Virginia.
The clip was shared across the globe with many people understandably horrified at the man’s blatant disregard for public health amid the coronavirus outbreak gripping nations around the world.
In the UK, Good Morning Britain host Piers Morgan blasted the male for his ‘deliberate’ attempts to try and harm other people by unhygienically casting his tongue along a row of sanitary products in what is now known to be a Walmart store.
The suspect, who has been charged with making a terrorist threat following the incident, has been named as 26-year old, Cody Pfister who claims he was “making a ‘Coronavirus’ statement” after being taken into custody the police department have confirmed.
This will undoubtedly be music to Piers Morgan’s ears who said on GMB:
“This of somebody in America, who went to a supermarket knowing the coronavirus is attacking everyone in the United States, and he did this and posted it online”.
Blasting: “What I would like to happen to him is I’d like him found, and I’m sure they will get him”.
“I would like him put in prison, immediately”.
“And then I would like him deprived of any healthcare should he then get the virus having tried to deliberately give it to potentially lots of other people”.
Piers then added: “That might concentrate the minds of these morons and it might concentrate the minds of these morons we have here”, in reference to the thousands of people who gathered at public parks and beaches prior to lockdown over the weekend.
At the time many social media users had identified the man and said that he lived in Missouri which has so far seen 183 confirmed cases of the virus and six deaths.
The police department in Virginia had received far reaching reports and in statement they said:
“A local resident who took a video of themselves licking the merchandise after making a “Corona Virus” statement at Walmart and posting it to social media has been taken into custody.
“Charges with Warren Co. DA are pending. The police department confirmed the man was a local resident and said he was ‘making a coronavirus statement’ and had been taken into custody.”
We take these complaints very seriously and would like to thank all of those who reported the video so the issue could be addressed”.
Us President Donald Trump has now set a goal of returning life to normal in less than three weeks– despite fears and warnings from the WHO that the US could become the new coronavirus epicentre following a “very large acceleration” of cases.
Cases in the US (46,400 total) have not yet surpassed those in Italy, though, which is currently the worst hit nation with more than 6,800 deaths and almost 70,000 confirmed cases – more than in China where last week total death figures were over 3,200.
Experts have warned that the States are yet to see the peak of the virus with 15 States now in various forms of lockdown, and there are fears the crisis could well continue for months – not weeks as Trump hopes.
Thankfully, that’s one more absolute idiot off the streets in what is already clearly a very moronic time.
If you don’t agree, just look at the queues outside your local Tesco.
