We all knew the Duchess of Sussex was keen to spread her wings and fly, but I don’t think anyone assumed she meant that quite so literally.
The Duchess of Sussex has reportedly told her agent to “actively search” for a superhero role within the Marvel Cinematic Universe, following a recent voiceover gig for Disney.
Yep, it appears that after a three-year break to become a princess, Duchess, wife and mother, the acting bug has bit the former Suits actress once again.
Prince Harry’s 38-year-old wife is allegedly plotting an explosive Hollywood return, in the wake of the couple’s dramatic departure from their royal duties and the Royal Family.
The news comes just weeks after it was reported that Markle had leant her voice to a Disney project in exchange for a charitable donation to Elephants Without Borders.
Disney of course owns all the rights to Marvel Studios, so this mysterious voiceover gig could help pave the way to the Duchess’s alleged endgame.
Markle’s agent Nick Collins is rumoured to be reaching out to the biggest Hollywood Studios – including Marvel – in a bid to land his royal client a huge comeback role, as Meghan seeks financial independence away from her husband’s family.
A source has reportedly told the Mail on Sunday:
“He has said she wants her return to acting to be part of an ensemble cast in something like a superhero film.
I rolled my eyes at first, but after some thought, I have to say that Meghan could be a serious contender for a future Marvel role, if she was keen to go down that route; she’s an experienced actress, has a good relationship with Disney and she’ll attract a sh*t load of press.
And she has that indestructible slow-mo hair.
Meghan announced her retirement from Hollywood in her first joint interview with Prince Harry back in November 2017.
“I don’t see it as giving anything up. I just see it as a change. It’s a new chapter. And keep in mind I’ve been working on my show (Suits) for seven years. We were very fortunate to have that sort of longevity on a series. For me, once we hit the 100 episode marker, I thought, I have ticked this box and I feel really proud of the work we’ve done there and now it’s time to work as a team with [Harry].”

Or the Avengers, perhaps?
