My Chemical Romance have announced that they’re coming back for a huge reunion gig and when I was a young boy, my father took me into the city to see a marching band…

Yes that’s right, the band with the worst hair in the business are getting back together and he said, “Son, when you grow up, would you be the saviour of the broken; the beaten, and the damned?”

Speculation grew that My Chemical Romance – who I thought were the same band as 30 Seconds to Mars – were going to get back together when they changed their profile pictures across all socials to something that looked like the Amnesty International logo.

Suspicions were confirmed though when the band tweeted:

Like Phantoms Forever…

That’s today.

The band will be coming back on the 20th of December in a gig in Los Angeles and while that’s the only show that’s being advertised at the moment, it’s usually the way that they’ll see how pre-sales go and then arrange a whole tour.

My Chemical Romance also started an Instagram page, which is pretty wild. Look at them, getting with the times. I hear you can now fax them your fan mail…

The band split up back in 2013, but before then released four studio albums, having been together since the wild year of 2001.

In the meantime, Gerard Way – the lead singer – has been working on Netflix’s Umbrella Academy, the superhero series based on the comic book series of the same name, created by Way.

Happy days, eh?
