Yes that’s right, the band with the worst hair in the business are coming to the big MK after an announcement came in the form of a video on social media.
A hooded figure can be seen making its way through woodlands, leading to a final screen that shows the band will appear at Stadium MK on 20 June 2020.
Get it in the diaries you emo-lovin’ animals!
The clip was posted with the title: “An Offering…”
Speculation grew that My Chemical Romance – who I thought were the same band as 30 Seconds to Mars – were going to get back together back last year when they changed their profile pictures across all socials to something that looked like the Amnesty International logo.
Suspicions were confirmed though when the band tweeted:
“Like Phantoms Forever…
Tickets on Sale Friday 11/1/19 at 12:00 PM“
The band split up back in 2013, but before then released four studio albums, having been together since the wild year of 2001.
In the meantime, Gerard Way – the lead singer – has been working on Netflix’s Umbrella Academy, the superhero series based on the comic book series of the same name, created by Way.
The band kicked off their eagerly-awaited reunion with a show in LA last month with tickets selling out in a matter of mere minutes.
It went down a storm as well with Kerrang! saying: “A band built from the ashes of 9/11 to make sense of a broken America have now re-emerged to take on the infinite s***shows of our micro and macro lives. It’s not only about this community, it’s about rewriting their moment in time.
“To be MCR is to defy every label, type and mould. To be MCR is to keep on playing even when the world is trying to hold you down. To be MCR is to muster the decade’s greatest comeback just as time was about to leave you behind. We are okay again.”
I’ve got a feeling this puppy is going to be a memorable one.
