This comes after the rapper appeared on Ladies Like Us with Nazanin Mandi and Nadia Moham, to discuss various topics, including whether or not he’s had the “sex talk” with his 18-year-old daughter Deyjah Harris.
The 39-year-old responded with:
“Not only have we had the conversation, we have yearly trips to the gynaecologist to check her hymen,”
The hosts initially laughed at what he said, presumably thinking it was a joke, but undeterred by this he went on.
“So we’ll go and sit down and the doctor will come and talk and you know, the doctor will maintain a high level of professionalism.
“And he’s like: ‘Well, you know sir, in order for me to share information… and I say: ‘Deyjah they want you to sign this. They want you to sign this. So we can share information. Is there anything that you would not want me to know? See Doc, no problem.’“
He then explained how the doctor told him that other activities can break a hymen, such as horse and bike-riding, to which he would say:
“She don’t ride no horses, she don’t ride no bike, she don’t play no sports. Just check the hymen, please, and give me back my results expeditiously.“
The rapper then added: “As of her 18th birthday, her hymen is still intact,” before saying this was good as people don’t want to have sex with a virgin, adding they’re “No fun. Who wants a virgin? Like really, all that work?”
T.I.’s comments have caught a lot of heat (to steal a term from Twitter Moments), with people genuinely sickened by his behaviour and general lack of disrespect for his daughter and her personal space.
I’ve got to say, I’m not at all a fan of cancel culture, but T.I.’s treatment of his daughter is absolutely deplorable and sickening and I’ll concede, he really does deserve it.
This kind of invasive, sexist and, well, abusive, parenting is in no way acceptable and he somehow made it even worse by publicly sharing the status of his daughter’s sex life.
