Not that Rick and Morty is some mainstay in anticapitalist propaganda, but partnering with huge multinational company just doesn’t sit right for some reason. That’s not to say that I won’t try Pickle Rick Pringles if presented the chance though.
I’ve not caught up on this current season of Rick and Morty yet. The first episode kind of grossed me out with that wasp dinner scene and I’ve not managed to pluck up the effort to try with episode two yet. With that said, I have returned to old episodes in the past, with the most common ones being Tales From the Citadel, Total Rickall, and Pickle Rick.
Three fantastic episodes, each with their own draws and amazing moments. Perhaps the most iconic so far is Pickle Rick though, and it’s because of that we have Pickle Rick Pringles on the horizon.
It’s probably also because of all of the episode titles, Pickle Rick is the only one that could be a flavour.
Though Pickle Rick Pringles aren’t available to buy at the moment, they’re due to be released in time for the 2020 Super Bowl, on the 3rd of February.
Given the Super Bowl – happening in Miami, Florida’s Hard Rock Stadium – is a decidedly American event, it’s not clear at the present whether Pickle Rick Pringles will be available elsewhere (such as here in the UK), but I’m sure if you feel utterly compelled to, you’ll find a way to get your hands on them somehow.
Gareth Maguire, senior director of marketing for Pringles, said in a press release:
“We want to do something completely new for the brand for the 2020 Big Game and are thrilled to be partnering with Adult Swim and Rick and Morty, a show which continues to grow in popularity year after year and enjoys a cult fan following. We hope the new special edition Pickle Rick flavour will be a hit with the show’s fans.”
Jill King, senior vice president for marketing and partnerships at Adult Swim, added:
“We’re very thoughtful about who we partner with around Rick and Morty and we couldn’t be more pleased with our new relationship with Pringles.
“Not only are the Rick and Morty show creators making a hilarious spot for the Big Game, we’re extending this partnership in really exciting ways, all year long. Rick and Morty fans are going to be given amazing new opportunities to illustrate their love for this iconic show, thanks to Pringles.“
I can’t wait for Rick and Morty fans to start losing their shit at supermarkets when they don’t stock enough tubes of Pickle Rick Pringles.
By the way, not too long ago I wrote a list of crisps no longer on the market that I miss. One of said flavours was Salt and Pepper Pringles. Days later, they’re back in shops.
