Primark revealed a new Billie Eilish collection was on the way, just as it was confirmed that the 18-year-old would be singing the next James Bond song for No Time To Die.
That’t not a bad week for an 18-year-old. When I was 18, I was working in Blockbusters and kept getting warnings for nicking Haribo.
Side note – I can’t be the only person who thinks Billie looks like a f**king cool edgy Velma from Scooby Doo, can I?
Oh well, being 12 years older means I don’t have to resort to petty theft and have just enough cash in the bank to go on the odd Primark splurge every now and again. And by the looks of Primark’s new Billie Eilish range, I need to schedule one of those in.
Primark teased its new collaboration with the Bad Guy singer on Instagram, posting a sneak peak at some of the items in the new collection with the following caption:
When you find out your fave is going to be singing the new James Bond theme tune 🙌💚 Prices from £6/€8/$9 #Primark #BillieEilish #007 #kidsfashion”
They say #kidsfashion, but let’s face it, plenty of us so-called young professionals wouldn’t say no to an oversized Billie hoodie for those lazy hangover mornings spent with Netflix and a McDonald’s delivery.
The Instagram comments are fairly predictable, considering Eilish’s poplarity right now.
One user wrote:
“Take my money 😂.“
“NEED 2 OF EVERYTHING 😊😊.“
“woah i need all this rn.”
You get the idea. If you’re keen to check out the new range, you’ll have to wander on down to your local Primark, as the store still doesn’t take online orders.
The 18-year-old multi-platinum selling and GRAMMY® Award nominated Billie Eilish has written the title song with her elder brother; fellow multi GRAMMY® Award nominated FINNEAS.
Billie Eilish is the youngest artist in history to write and record a James Bond theme song.
“We are excited to announce that Billie and FINNEAS have written an incredibly powerful and moving song for No Time To Die, which has been impeccably crafted to work within the emotional story of the film,” said Michael G. Wilson and Barbara Broccoli, the producers of No Time To Die.
“It feels crazy to be a part of this in every way. To be able to score the theme song to a film that is part of such a legendary series is a huge honour. James Bond is the coolest film franchise ever to exist. I’m still in shock”.
The last Bond song was called Writing’s On The Wall and was sung by Sam Smith for 2015’s Spectre.
The week’s not over, Billie. I look forward to your next mic drop.
