The Oprah interview with Harry and Meghan has been making waves since before it was broadcast.

The couple is now at their lowest ever popularity ranking too.

A royal expert says that Prince Harry was “hurt and angry” over how his wife was treated by the Royal Family. It’s claimed he used their Oprah interview to “get it out” but is now “regretful and embarrassed” about it.

Duncan Larcombe is a royal expert.

He is the author of Prince Harry: The Inside Story, and he knows Harry personally.

Larcombe spent a lot of time with Harry during the ten years he spent as a royal editor. Duncan describes Harry as ‘hot-headed’.

In an interview with  Closer magazine, the expert says Harry is very impulsive.

He claims Harry ‘flew off the handle’ at him during Peter Phillips’ stag do in 2008, after a “misunderstanding”.

The former royal editor said he had told William and Harry that he wouldn’t get in their way while covering the event.

He said he would liaise with them about the story he’d run in advance.

The Duke of Cambridge invited him to join them for a drink in the beer garden.

Larcombe says Harry was ‘livid’ thinking he’d come in uninvited.

‘He’s a hot-headed guy, he acts on his emotions. He saw red and we had a row – but after William explained, he calmed down, apologised and we had a beer.’

Oprah

It’s this impulsive nature that Duncan thinks has landed Harry in hot water with the Oprah interview.

Duncan believes a ‘similar thing happened.’

In the interview they accused the royals of institutional racism, claiming one member of the family questioned what colour their son Archie’s skin would be. He also said his brother and father are “trapped”.

‘Harry was clearly hurt and angry about Meghan’s experience with the royals – and used the interview to get it out,’ Duncan said. ‘But after returning home, I’ve no doubt he’s been feeling embarrassed, regretful and awkward. He’s now facing the consequences. I believe he’ll regret that interview – and maybe his decision to leave the Royal Family.’

Harry returned to the UK for the funeral of Prince Philip, and it’s said he received a “frosty reception” from the royals.

However, Harry and William were seen talking as they left the service.

Another conversation between Harry, William and Charles was said to have taken place, but it’s said they were “unproductive”.

“Numb”

According to Duncan,  Harry felt “numb” heading back to LA. He also says Harry had had “mixed emotions” about seeing his family again as it reminded him of ‘everything he’s sacrificed’ and feels ‘nostalgic’ for his old life.

He claims that Meghan is ‘in her element’ living her LA dream.

Larcombe says Meghan worries Harry will struggle to balance life between the two worlds.

Duncan says: “He’s in for a very difficult ride. There could be tough times ahead.”

It’s thought that William and Harry will meet again in the summer. They are planned to attend the same event on July 1st to unveil a new statue to Princess Diana at Kensington Palace.

It’s taking place to mark what would have been their mother’s 60th birthday.

Many are hoping the event will be another step that will help to mend their relationship.

Royal expert Russell Myers questioned earlier this week whether the visit will take place.

He said: ‘Some quarters of the family did give him a frosty reception and perhaps that did shock him somewhat.’

Myers also said Harry may use the birth of his daughter as a “convenient excuse'” not to “face the family”.

It’s also been revealed that Harry and Meghan will be taking part in a charity concert to raise funds for the vaccine rollout.

Do you think Harry regrets it?
