Rick Moranis is back, as Disney are rebooting Honey I Shrunk The Kids for their streaming service Disney+.

We can all agree that it’s really annoying when you shrink the kids; especially when you have to tell your nagging wife about it. If I had a penny for every time.

Of all of the men to shrink the kids, Rick Moranis is perhaps the most well known, having appeared in Honey I Shrunk The Kids, Honey I Blew Up The Kid, and Honey We Shrunk Ourselves.

To be fair to his wife, she had a lot to deal with.

In general, Moranis became known for playing a small, lovable guy, with roles such as Barney Rubble in the live-action Flintstones and Louis in Ghostbusters, but it was in the Honey! franchise that he really captured the love of family viewers all over the world.

Sadly, his wife Anne passed away in 1991, so Rick Moranis took a step back from acting to look after his family a few years later. A devastating loss for him and his family became a huge loss for fans of comedy and though the 66-year-old talent has voice-acted several titles, he hasn’t returned to cinema.

Until now…

Moranis is back, as Disney are rebooting the series with Shrunk, which will feature him in his old role, and Josh Gad as his son who Deadline reports  is “aspiring to be a great scientist like his father, but accidentally shrinks the kids.”

Classic!

Gad revealed the news himself on Instagram, telling his fans:

Been sitting on this one for quite a while.

To say it is a dream come true to once again see Rick Moranis on the big screen is the understatement of the decade.

But to say, I get an up seat view of him returning to play one of his most iconic roles is the understatement of the Century.

It’s Shrinking time. Welcome back hero!

How lovely.

That sounded disingenuous. It wasn’t.

Can’t wait for this!
