Since I’m A Celeb ’19 started, we’ve become extremely protective over decathlete/reality TV star Caitlyn Jenner. She may live in Malibu, but to Britain, she’s now a national treasure.
We love her determination, her ability to converse with everyone (even Kirk from Corrie) and her enthusiasm for jungle life.
I can’t say that I’d be the same in there, all hungry and tired.
So when we hear her fellow campmates take shots at her behind her back, it’s hard for us not to automatically cancel them out. Especially when the bitchy comments come from those who we least expect it from – take Mr Roman Kemp, for example.
Roman to the stand, please.
In last night’s episode of I’m A Celebrity Get Me Out of Here!, Roman was caught by the jungle cameras bitching about Caitlyn to fellow campmate Nadine Coyle.
It all started when Caitlyn complained about the octopus they were given for dinner, cooked by James Haskell and Jacqueline Jossa. The decathlete disliked the food so much she spat out part of the meal before remarking that it was ‘chewy’ and ‘tasteless’.
I can imagine that unseasoned seafood is certainly both of these things.
Kemp wasn’t impressed with Caitlyn’s behaviour at dinner and decided to express his disappointment in her by conversing with Nadine Coyle. He said: “I heard Caitlyn complaining about it. It does my head in when she doesn’t say please or thank you”.
It’s clear that the Capital FM DJ believes that the KUWTK star is too righteous at times; however, it seems that the Girls Aloud singer didn’t completely agree with his comment as she responded: “Yeah but she’s 70-years-old. I always think when you are a certain age you have paid your dues”.
This comes as no surprise seeing how close Caitlyn and Nadine have grown over the last two weeks.
Roman didn’t take age as a valid excuse for Caitlyn’s behaviour as he responded: “She’s only just 70 and that’s only 10 years older than my mum and dad”. In saying this, Kemp suggested that his parents would never behave in such a manner.
All I want to say is: We need to protect Caitlyn at all costs!
In other I’m A Celeb news, a leaked memo reveals the secret behind contestant’s letters from home. Read about it here.
