Piers Morgan is doing a tour of US talk shows and he continues to take aim at Meghan Markle.

It’s safe to say that Piers Morgan has an issue with Meghan Markle. Morgan has spent years discussing the actor and has made plenty of critical comments. However, an interview between Prince Harry, Meghan Markle and Oprah was the tipping point.

Piers Morgan went on to doubt claims that Markle was suicidal and also questioned whether the family had been racist. This is despite Prince Harry’s uncle, father and grandfather all making racist comments publically.

The anger of Morgan extended into multiple showings of Good Morning Britain. Eventually, the host left after co-star Alex Beresford noted that Morgan’s anger may stem from Markle choosing not to speak to him anymore.

In the wake of this incident, Morgan has had ‘his say’ on the incident and Markle in a press tour. Many have noted that Morgan has used plenty of avenues to discuss the situation, but the interviews are continuing.

Interestingly, after previously insulting Prince Harry, the personality has now claimed he has been thanked by the monarchy.

What was said?

Morgan sat down with Extra TV’s Billy Bush and discussed the Royal Family reaching out to him:

“I’ve had some messages communicated to me on behalf of several members of the royal family.”

“I’m not going to go into who it was but [it was] gratitude that somebody was standing up.”

Interestingly, not directly naming people is why Morgan doubted Markle’s account of events. However, Morgan appears to believe that his connection to the monarchy is more legitimate.

The TV personality also discussed the backlash he and his family have received:

“My wife’s always been completely supportive about this, but she hates the online abuse. The idea my sons had to be targeted by so-called liberals in a way that was threatening to them, abusive to them is completely disgusting.”

Given that Morgan has long blasted Meghan Markle on every media platform and encouraged hate messages it may seem that this sentiment is paradoxical. Moreover, yesterday in another interview Morgan claimed “[Prince Harry is a] whiny brat in his mid-30s.”

Moving forward

It seems that Morgan is determined to talk about this particular royal situation while overlooking others. However, after making claims about Diana and his logic becoming increasingly far-fetched, he may lose some supporters.

Nonetheless, Morgan has made it clear he wants to interview Markle:

“I would say to Meghan Markle: ‘Look… sit down with me with your husband for an equally long interview… and let me ask you more difficult questions about all your claims.”

Why Morgan has to conduct such an interview himself is unclear.

Let’s hope these interviews don’t get too nasty.
