“If you know anything about me at all, I’m going to assume it’s that I really love weed.”
Seth Rogen is broadening his horizons. Not only is he an actor, comedian, writer, producer and director, he is now the founder of a weed company.
This has been a long time coming. Rogen has apparently been working on the company for the last ten years.
Now, weed ‘hand-smoked’ by Rogen is being introduced in America. Not only this, but Rogen’s company will be selling a lighter which also doubles up as an ashtray. Clever.
Rogen made the announcement on his instagram. He posted a video of himself with the caption: “Almost ten years I go, I envisioned having my own weed company. And today I can announce that my company Houseplant’s weed will be available in California soon! Next week soon!”
In the video, Rogen shows off the product he will be selling. He says: “Hi, I’m Seth Rogen, and if you know anything about me at all, I’m going to assume it’s that I really love weed.
“But what you probably don’t know about me is that I’ve been working on my own weed company for the last ten years and we are finally ready to launch in America.
Continuing, Rogen says: “It’s called Houseplant and what we’re doing is bringing you the best strains of weed that have been handpicked – and by that I mean hand-smoked – by me.
“It’s just the weed that I love, that I want to be smoking, it comes in these adorable little tins. We have an orange one for Sativa, a purple one for Indica, and it even stacks.”
“We have things like this block table lighter which is a table lighter with an ashtray for the lid. I lose my lighters all of f**king time but not no more because this dude is hard to lose.
“This is just the beginning – this is honestly my life’s work and I’ve never been more excited about anything. I hope you enjoy it.”
Houseplant is not a brand new company, however.
It was originally started in 2019 and was ‘born out of our love and passion for cannabis, design and art,’ Seth said in a press release.
“Evan [Goldberg] and I also recognize that our lifelong dream of starting a cannabis lifestyle brand like Houseplant comes with a commitment to changing the unjust and racist cannabis laws that still exist in today’s society.
“We understand our responsibility to help right those wrongs and are dedicated to creating a more diverse, equitable cannabis industry.”
Clearly, Rogen has high hopes for the future.
