Sylvester Stallone has confirmed what none of us wanted but now that we know it’s a thing, can’t help but be slightly intrigued by – Demolition Man 2…

It’s coming, which is interesting given how the first one ended. I don’t want to give anything away, but Wesley Snipes is frozen with liquid nitrogen and then shattered into many bloody icicles by Sylvester Stallone’s foot.

Like I say; no spoilers, but make no mistake… Demolition Man 2 will probably end the same way.

Demolition Man is 27-years-old now – the film, not the person – and the synopsis reads:

With innocent victims caught in the crossfire in Los Angeles’ intensifying war on crime, both cop John Spartan (Sylvester Stallone) and violent thug Simon Phoenix (Wesley Snipes) are sentenced to a state of frozen incarceration known as ‘CryoPrison’.

When Spartan is finally thawed 36 years later, it’s 2032, and Los Angeles is now a pacifist utopia called San Angeles. But with Phoenix again on the loose, Spartan must team up with future cop Lenina (Sandra Bullock) to apprehend the killer“.

As I mentioned earlier though, his past was his undoing, i.e. being cold.

Sylvester Stallone confirms 'Demolition Man 2' is in development ...

27 years is a long time to wait for a sequel to a particular film and it puts the Star Wars series to shame, and since the wait was so long, you’d think that the announcement would be somewhat ostentatious.

Not at all.

Stallone just sort of mentioned it during a live Q&A video to his fans.

Asked, “Can we get another Demo Man?

He responded:

I think there is one coming. We’re working on it right now with Warner Bros, and it’s looking fantastic.

So that should come out, that’s going to happen“.

Will the sequel feature Wesley Snipes?

You would have thought so, wouldn’t you?

Not too long ago, both him and Stallone were in Expendables 3 together – the film that had Terry Crews’ character on his deathbed because Mel Gibson shot him in the arse – so they still have some kind of professional association with one another.

Sure, he had his head frozen and smashed off, but wasn’t there a film recently with two Will Smiths? Anything’s possible.

We’ll keep you updated.
