For all intents and purposes he looks like he could pound me into the ground like something out of the Looney Tunes, but when you hear him speak he seems like the most genuine and nicest person ever.
At this point now he’s also a Lip Sync Battle cult hero, and if you don’t believe me just watch this:
Of course that song appeared in the film White Chicks, as did Crews, who played loved-up NFL player Latrell Spencer.
The film was released over a decade ago, in 2004, and followed two disgraced FBI agents who go undercover as, well, white chicks, in an effort to protect a hotel heiresses from a kidnapping plot.
News of a sequel has been bandied around for a while now, but Terry was recently a guest on Andy Cohen’s Watch What Happens Live where he was asked about a follow-up to the film, and he gave the answer we’ve all been waiting for.
“I actually got with Shawn and he was like ‘Man we doing it, we’re getting it going,’” he said. “15 years ago as of this month! I’m staying in shape just for this movie.”
Terry also recently paid a visit to The Talk and was asked which song he would sing his heart out to in the movie this time around. “I think the modern day of [“A Thousand Miles”] would be Carly Rae Jepsen “Call Me Maybe,”‘ he said.
“I don’t know the lyrics but I would definitely do the whitest white girl song you would ever see. But white girls are singing gangster right now, you know what I mean? So it might be a little different, it might have a little rap thing in there. How ever we would do it, it’d be great.”
Confirmation of the sequel comes after Crews was the first person to tease a possible follow-up, recently speaking to US weekly on the red carpet of America’s Got Talent Season 14.
“I would love one!” he said.
“I’m staying in shape for White Chicks 2. I will never get out of shape — you know that, right? I will be 75 and say, ‘Here we go, I’m ready to go!’ I will never, ever get out of shape because that movie’s going to happen one day.”
Earlier this year, Marlon Wayans told MTV, “Is White Chicks 2 happening anytime soon?”
“I don’t know, but there’s been some rumblings happening, and a lot of people want us to do it, so me and my brothers have been talking,” he said. “So if things go right, we hope to do a White Chicks 2.”
There’s no doubting the film will be hilarious given how great the first one was. Although I’m slightly concerned that times have changed since 2004 and hyper-aware of the fact that loads of people are going to be suggesting that this is no different to ‘blackface’ and that it’s racist.
Charismatic, witty, charming, engaging - four things Joshua Rogers will never be. Thankfully, he’s a semi-competent writer, who, after graduating university with two mostly pointless degrees, joined The Hook two years ago. Since then, he has honed his writing skills over the course of various sex related articles. Now, at the tender age of 26, he’s finally finished experimenting with (on) himself.
