Terry Crews’s audition tape for King Triton is the best thing on the internet, maybe ever.

Everyone loves Terry Crews and there’s not a single person on this earth worth talking to who doesn’t look at him and feel all warm inside.

He’s a dangerously loveable man.

I have a confession though; the other day I pitched a film with Hollywood’s most loved leading men and I forgot to include Terry. I said:

I want an Expandables-style film where it’s just Hollywood’s most liked boys just being good to each other and having a fun time. We’d have Tom Hanks, Michael B Jordan, Keanu Reeves, Bill Nighy, Bryan Cranston, Donald Glover, Ryan Reynolds, Jake Gyllenhaal, Hugh Jackman and, of course, Chris Evans maybe solving a crime.”

I stick by it of course, but Mr Crews absolutely needs to be added to the roster.

Well, that’s if he’s not too busy being King Triton in the live-action Little Mermaid remake…

So we all know that Ariel will be portrayed by 19-year-old US singer Halle Bailey, who apparently was a front-runner from the start, but what else?

Obviously some idiots complained about the fact that the original Ariel from the 1989 version isn’t black, but thankfully many people commented on the significance of a black woman taking on the lead, with Brooklyn Nine Nine star Terry Crews putting his name in the hat to play the mermaid’s dad, King Triton.

He posted this to Instagram initially…

But now he’s gone one step further, by posting an audition tape to the site…

God he’s so insanely loveable.

And those special effects must have cost a small fortune!

I don’t think there would be a single person against this.

It probably needs to be done.

Come on Disney.
