In fact, even those born later than that will have been subjected to the iconic sitcom at some point or another, what with approximately 20 TV channels and Netflix broadcasting it.
Of course, over the 10 seasons and 236 episodes, everyone has their favourite moment, albeit it’s admittedly hard to choose.
Even the cast have found it tough. Thankfully, though, they’ve whittled down their favourite eps in various interviews. So without further adieu, here they are:
The One With The Blackout
Court’s favourite episode is where the city suffers a power outage and Ross gets attacked by a cat.
She revealed during a Friends reunion in 2016 that it’s “one of [her] favorites.”
“I loved that. I loved the cat on [Ross’] back,” Cox said. Schwimmer, who played Monica’s brother, Ross, also has fond memories of that episode.
“I don’t know if I’d say it was my absolute favorite episode, but I loved doing [it],” she told Glamour in 2016.
Matt revealed on Good Morning America in 2017 that one of his favourite episodes, and indeed, one-liners comes from “The One With Ross’ New Girlfriend,” which sees Ross loved up with Julie.
In the episode, Joey struggles to remember how old he was when he got his first suit. “I was 15. No, wait…16. No, excuse me, 15,” he says. “Alright, when was 1990?”
The One With The Holiday Armadillo
Isn’t this everyone’s favourite?
Schwimmer said of the episode:
“‘The One With the Holiday Armadillo’ was fun! I mean, it was really fun.” It was really fun to watch too, David.
The One With The Prom Video
Apparently, Jen An’s a big fan of the flashback episodes, specifically “The One With the Prom Video” where Rachel and Monica leave a geeky-looking Ross behind to go to prom.
“I always loved the flashbacks. I always loved when we would have things like flashback to fat Monica and Rachel pre-nose job and Ross with his afro,” she said in 2016.
The One with George Stephanopoulos
It turns out that one of Matt’s favourite eps is one from an earlier series. One of his highlights is “The One with George Stephanopoulos” where he says: “I remember the episode where the boys went to a Rangers game and Ross was hit in the face with the puck, and we’re sitting in the emergency room and Joey of course has the puck.”
“He somehow got it. And Schwimmer’s got the bandage on his face.”
The One With Joey’s New Brain
Another one of my personal favourite Friends moments here.
Speaking to E! in 2017, Kudrow said her favorite episode is from Season 7.
“When Ross was learning to play, wanted to play the bagpipes,” she said. “He says, ‘Sing along,’ and Phoebe does. And he’s playing ‘Celebrate’ by Kool and the Gang. It’s so stupid and funny.”

Charismatic, witty, charming, engaging - four things Joshua Rogers will never be. Thankfully, he’s a semi-competent writer, who, after graduating university with two mostly pointless degrees, joined The Hook two years ago. Since then, he has honed his writing skills over the course of various sex related articles. Now, at the tender age of 26, he’s finally finished experimenting with (on) himself.
