With the first episode airing on ITVBe on Sunday evening (September 1st). It was revealed that fan favourites Olivia Attwood, James Bennewith, Liam Bakewell, and the Brockett sisters Chloe and Clare are all participating.
Pete Wicks, whom I once met at an event in Walkabout in Swansea, will also be in attendance.
The show kicked off at 9pm and continues on a weekly basis for approximately 10-11 weeks.
TOWIE is on ITVBe and can be streamed on the ITVHub
Joining them is everybody’s favourite fight instigator Gemma Collins; incorrigible Dan Edgar and his two love interests, Amber Turner and Chloe Sims.
Newbie Saffron Lempriere who, despite sounding like a main course in an Indian restaurant, is billed as an apprentice to Gemma Collins.
And former Miss Great Britain and ex-lover of Pete Wicks, Shelby Tribble (which sounds like a gin-based cocktail inspired by Peaky Blinders and served for £18 a glass in a trendy wine bar in Brick Lane).
The rest of the cast joining the series are:
In the premiere on Sunday night, Dirty Dan’s love triangle reached breaking point as he friendzoned Chloe Sims to get back with his sometime lover Amber Turner.
And it looks like this awkward interaction is affecting his other relationships as he begs one of his closest mates not to let his love life get in the way of their friendship.
Gemma Collins is back as regular after her sporadic appearances last season due to her unfortunate experiences on Dancing on Ice.
As can be expected, she has her own opinions to insert into the love triangle, which appears to be the central arc of this season’s storyline.
Last season ended with the equally awkward end to Sam and Shelby’s relationship with him dropping her in favour of Demi Sims just one day after they had congress on a trip to Thailand.
Shelby then decided her own relationship future with Tom McDonnell (no relation to our evil Shadow Chancellor) or continue to pursue Sam.
Fans were confused after she chose Tom, but was later seen posting luvvy duvvy pics with Sam on Instagram only days later.
Bobby Norris is still high off his success getting his bill to combat homophobic trolling on social media debated in the Houses of Parliament.
He received well-deserved praise and support from family and friends for campaigning so hard and so passionately to raise awareness for other LGBTQ+ suffering at the hands of bigots on Facebook and Twitter.
The season finished with Dan’s apparent vow of chastity (yeah right). But if his social media accounts and the comments made by Chloe and Amber in the teaser trailer are anything to go by, the drama’s not over yet.
We have another ten to eleven weeks to watch the plot thicken and the stars argue it out. If I see Pete Wicks in Walkabout again, I’ll make sure to get the behind the scenes gossip …
