Stranger Things isn’t done yet, since The Simpsons are going to be parodying it this Halloween.

You’d have thought that The Simpsons was done with parodying certain films and TV shows since, for the last 20-0r-so years, it’s been a parody of the time it was actually good, but no. I guess not.

Actually it gets summed up well in a great 90s cartoon I love…

But yeah as I said, The Simpsons is still going for some reason and though I’ve not met a single person who still watches it, it doesn’t look like that’s stopping at all.

So they’re latching onto a show that people actually like and are parodying Stranger Things for this year’s Halloween special.

By the looks of things, Lisa will be playing Eleven, Chief Wiggum will be Hopper and Milhouse’s mum will be Joyce Byers, which makes Milhouse himself Will.

Interestingly, they’ve made Bart Mike. You know, the kid who falls in love with Eleven? They’ve made brother and sister Bart and Lisa into two characters who end up together.

That absolutely speaks to the general malaise shown for decent writing shown in the Simpsons offices these days. It’s small things that make a difference.

By the looks of things, they will also be parodying The Shape of Water with Marge’s sister Selma and either Kang or Kodos. I think it’s Kodos but you can’t be sure.

Selma is literally smoking underwater there. Good work, animating team.

Remember when The Simpsons used to make smart blink-and-you-miss-it film references, rather than outright basing entire episodes on films like some kind of Family Guy Star Wars special? Good times.

Expect this on the 20th of October. Make sure you’ve got the wrong TV channel on.
