The show follows FBI agents Holden Ford and Bill Tench as they attempt to understand and catch serial killers by studying their damaged psyches. Along the way, the agents pioneer the development of modern serial-killer profiling.
This season, amongst other things, focuses heavily of the Charles Manson Family who were responsible for the death of Sharon Tate and a few others, and the trailer for season two provides a glimpse of Manson himself behind bars.
David Berkowitz, aka the Son of Sam, also shows up, as well as the BTK Killer. Along with that, Ford and Tench will dissect the Atlanta Child Murders, where 28 people – most of whom were children – were killed in Atlanta from 1979-1981.
As reports have it, David Fincher, who directed the liked of Se7en, Fight Club and Zodiac will be behind the camera for a few episodes of Mindhunter season two.
Mindhunter has pretty big names behind it, with David Fincher as an executive producer, alongside the mercurial, Oscar-winning Charlize Theron, who recently let slip the information about the second season.
Talking to Howard Stern on SiriusXM, the host said how he was a great fan of the Netflix crime drama, to which Theron nonchalantly replied:
“Season 2 is coming in August.”
Just classic summer 2k19 vibes, right?
You can watch Mindhunter season 2 on Netflix come the 16th of August. Be there.
