Just excellent games and I even bought that rubbish new one with Kit Harington in it so I could play the remastered Modern Warfare 1.
Rather confusingly though, the new Call of Duty game has been revealed and it’s called Modern Warfare. Not Modern Warfare 4 or anything, just Modern Warfare.
Not really sure what’s going on there, but when you see the trailer, you’ll be insanely hyped, albeit still bewildered. Have a look…
Jesus it looks stunning.
Not sure what’s going on, but I’m happy to suspend my disbelief for a minute to enjoy what just unfolded in front of me. I’m not even a big gamer or anything – I play Fifa and Spider-Man and that’s about it – but I am so hyped for this.
Is it a reboot? Is it a sequel? Is it a completely new story? That’s Captain Price, but it doesn’t sound like Captain Price. New voice actors obviously can happen, I just don’t know if he’s my Captain Price.
Some old comrades? Ghost? Gaz? Soap? They’re all dead, but I love them. Please let it be them.
In a lovely twist, Infinity Ward have announced that this game will introduce cross-platform play, meaning that people on PlayStation, Xbox and PC will be able to play together.
“With the launch of Modern Warfare, the team is taking steps to unite the community.
First, the team plans for Modern Warfare to be played together across PC and console through cross-play support.
Also, the team is eliminating the traditional season pass, so that they can deliver more free maps and content as well as post-launch events to all players.“
I do worry for console gamers (like myself) though. With the best will in the world, PC gamers are f*cking nerds, and I fully expect them to run train on absolutely every n00b using a controller and not a mouse.
Adding to that, if you remember the ‘No Russian’ mission in Modern Warfare 2, you’ll remember the controversy surrounding it. Essentially as an undercover CIA pretending to be a terrorist, you shoot up an airport full of innocent people, and it didn’t go down too well with a certain amount of people.
Well apparently this new Modern Warfare has moments that make that mission seem like “baby stuff”. YouTuber Drift0r got a preview of the game, and later tweeted this…
So yeah, I can’t wait. I’m more of a campaign boy than an online fella so that’s fine with me. The game comes out on the 25th of October.
Not sure that trailer can ever get me as hyped as this did though…
