Eminem made a big impact by being provocative, and people are now reflecting on how odd some of his lyrics are.

TikTok has managed to cultivate its own following through its dances and unique social media mechanics. However, on occasion, there will be a trend that crosses over with other platforms.

Frequently, TikTok will give rise to a song and make it insanely popular for no real reason. This has been the case for Eminem, as users have the song ‘Fack’ in their videos. Moreover, the song has now got added attention as people dive into the lyrics.

Safe to say, they may be stranger than you remember.

The song

‘Fack’ was released in 2005 and it was an odd addition to his greatest hits album, Curtain Call: The Hits. While the award-winning rapper had moved to more personal topics, the song was a throwback to the outrageous songs of Slim Shady.

The song itself is filled with outrageous language, as the rapper discusses sex.

Some of the lyrics include:

“Owwwwowwwwowwww (Oh, God damn)
I’m gonna f***ing c** (Oh, s***)
Fack, fackfack (F***, I am)
I am, I’m going to c** (I’m cu***ng)”

The verses of the song also follow a pretty graphic discussion of sex:

Never seen no chick like this
This b**** can twist like a damn contortionist
Condom on my d***? Of course it is
This b**** don’t know what abortion is
So I can’t c** in her, f*** like a p*** star

People can’t seem to believe the song was ever released and featured on the greatest hits album.

Reaction

Plenty of people are questioning the lyrics and meaning of the song. While some may say it was a different time, no matter which way you spin it the song doesn’t carry the potency of Eminem’s other work.

Twitter users made comments about the song:

“How does this exist?? How is this real life???”

“Was curious about the song FACK by Eminem when I heard it on TIKTOK, big mistake”

“I can’t believe you’ve only just heard it through TikTok I used to sit and scream the lyrics when I was 14”

What’s next

This isn’t the first time TikTok has taken issue with Eminem. In fact, some felt that the 2010 hit ‘Love The Way You Lie’ glorified domestic violence. Eminem managed to ride this criticism and released a video in response that showed he didn’t care while generating interest.

Going forward, it may be difficult to pass off lyrics about gerbils and threesomes in quite the same way. However, Eminem does seem to be adapting to these critiques with relative ease.

It will be interesting to see if the rapper responds.
