The trailer for the upcoming live-action Sonic film is here and it’s already got people talking.

For a while now, people have been wondering whether or not the upcoming Sonic the Hedgehog film will be any good, with most leaning towards no.

From the apparent leaks of Sonic’s design to the casting of Jim Carrey as the bad guy, a lot of things seemed to go against what others already loved about the franchise and now we finally get to have a look at what things look like.

The trailer, released by Paramount Pictures, reveals the full design of the blue hedgehog, as well as his general attitude and the plot.

By the looks of things, the American government plan to capture Sonic because he’s been causing havoc (just running around a bit), and they’re calling in Jim Carrey’s Dr Robotnik in to help.

Carrey looks to be going back to his nineties style of acting whilst Ben Schwartz, who voices Sonic, seems to do a pretty good voice of conveying what a really fast, blue hedgehog would sound like.

Have a watch of the trailer…

I don’t know about you, but I love the inclusion of the US army. If there’s one thing that hasn’t been done in cinema, it’s an old, crotchety American army general who seems hellbent on catching/killing something literally just because he doesn’t understand it.

Actually saying it out loud like that, maybe it is quite realistic.

Jim Carrey looks weird though and probably happy for die-hard Sonic fans, he’s bald at the end of the trailer…

I don’t know though. It doesn’t look very good.

My nephew would probably like it.
