A Vegan TikTok account has been blocked following a petition to have her removed from the social media platform.

That Vegan Teacher is – as you might have guessed – a vegan activist. Her real name is Kadie Karen Diekmeyer, and she had 1.7 Million followers on TikTok.

She used her platform to encourage users to become vegan. However, she has faced controversy surrounding her account for a while.

Controversial statements she has made include saying  that she does not want to donate her organs to meat eaters.

She says doing so would help them to “continue to live and keep murdering animals.”

“I’ve decided that there’s no way on earth that I want any of you to ever get my organs if I die.”

Further, the vegan activist has also been criticised for making her dog vegan.  In fact, more than 4,000 people signed a petition to “save” the dog.

It is understood that her dog is still vegan.

Targeting Gordon Ramsay

Last year, she released a song called EatingAnimalsIsWrongGordonRamsay. The video specifically targeted the British chef Gordon Ramsay. Some of her lyrics included:

“Eating animals is wrong, Gordon Ramsay.

“Hurting animals is wrong, Gordon Ramsay.

In true Ramsay style, Gordon reacted to the video by eating a beef burger.

Violating Community Guidelines

Her account has been suspended for ‘violating community guidelines’.

This follows a petition titled Remove That Vegan Teacher From TikTok reached over 20 thousand signatures.

The petition reads:

“Being a Vegan or Vegetarian is a healthful lifestyle that is a choice for some people.

“However it isn’t always the best option medically or financially.

The petition accuses the creator of violating “multiple community guidelines in various videos, duets and sounds.”

It points out that though “She is a former certificated educator”, she “has no background in veterinary nor human medicine.”

The petition further accuses That Vegan Teacher, stating that “she has made blatantly racist, bigoted, discriminatory statements against anyone who doesn’t view veganism her way and her way alone.

“She has promoted multiple films that are dangerous to children given TikToks 13 yr old age requirement and many children under that age access it on a daily basis.”

That Vegan Teacher’s Response

Responding to the petition, That Vegan Teacher posted a video on her YouTube.

The video was called ‘Censorship: Why Good People Must Rise Up And Speak Out’.

Diekmeyer says: “Many of you woke up this morning and found out that my account was banned on TikTok, and I know many of you are jumping for joy and thinking that this is a great victory

“Somehow, it makes you smile to know that an animal rights activist is being silenced on one of the platforms.

“Why is that? Why does that bring you joy? I know why – because you’re feeling guilty. You know you shouldn’t be eating animals, you know you shouldn’t be paying to exploit them, and you cannot look in the mirror and see that in you.

She continues, “You’re suffering from cognitive dissonance; you think you’re a good person, but on the other hand, you pay people to rape, torture and murder these innocent animals, who never did one single thing wrong to you.”

Responding directly to the accusations in the petition, Diekmeyer denies forcing anyone to become vegan. She also denies accusations of discrimination.

She says she has  “repeatedly stated that the LGBTQ community, and everyone, regardless of skin colour, age, social status or religion should be given equal rights, protected, cherished and loved.

“I also stated that members of all minority groups should tap into their own oppression and use that to help them understand the oppression that the animals live each and every moment in factory farms.”
