Vegan Activist’s ‘Rescue Mission’ At Rabbit Farm Actually Led To Death Of 100 Animals

Certain vegan activists give their kind a bad name, doing more harm than good in the pursuit to convince us meat-eaters to change our ways.

If someone explains something to me in a calm manner, I’m much more likely to listen to what they have to say and who knows, maybe put their words into practice. If someone is really aggressive about turning to a plant-based diet I’m just going to switch off. It’s just human nature.

Presumably normal vegans get pissed off at these people too, and I imagine that ‘Mythical Mia’ as she’s known on Instagram is just one example of them.

Was a vegan shot in the face by a farmer?

Well, according to Mia, she was ‘shot at’ by Spanish farmers after setting 16 rabbits free.

Activist Mia spoke of the terrifying moment on social media, telling her followers how the farmer was ‘extremely aggressive’ and ‘attacked’ the group she was with before police arrived. Here’s the video of her which went viral.

What did the vegan who was shot say?

Speaking to the camera, Mia said: “This is what has just happened to us, I’m documenting the whole thing. I’m covered in blood.

“This is what the farmers have done. They shot through our window and chased us down the motorway. Oh my God, I’m literally covered in blood.”

The caption on the post read:

“Today we entered a rabbit farm and rescued 16 lives. The farmer was extremely aggressive and attacked us, strangling activists and smashing their heads with metal poles.

“The police came and told us to leave peacefully, which we did. After we left the farmers chased us down the motorway. We tried to lose them down a side road but they were on our tails.

“They blocked us into a dead end and surrounded the car with five other farmers’ cars. They were banging on the windows, shouting and threatening us. We called the police who arrived after an hour.

“They diffused the situation and escorted us to a ‘safe place’. We asked them to escort us home, but they refused and said we would be okay. They let us go and 10 minutes later back on the motorway one of their cars pulled up alongside us and shot at us.”

She continued: “The most important thing is that the non-human animals are safe. They are far from that hell hole. I don’t want this to be about me at all, I just want people to know how evil farmers are. If this is how they treat humans, how can we expect them to care for animals?

“I had to deleted all the footage of the rescue from my phone when the police arrived, but will find and upload as much footage as possible of the animals and the rescue as soon as I can. Despite everything, I am just happy that those 16 lives are free from harm. They make everything worth it.”

However, according to the Daily Mail, Mia’s ordeal was in vain, as it actually led to the deaths of nearly 100 bunnies.

Reports in Spain say several of the ‘rescued’ animals had just given birth, leaving dozens of bunnies stranded without a mother. Unable to fend for themselves, 90 helpless bunnies had to be put down, according to La Vanguardia.

On top of that, five pregnant rabbits died during the raid while others are said to have lost their babies. Others still suffered broken spines, it is reported.

Furthermore, a spokeswoman for Catalonia police, the Mossos d’Esquadra, issued a statement which described the events somewhat differently to Mia.

She said: ‘On Sunday, September 1 at 7.30pm, a group of activists entered a farm in Gurb, Osona, and took 14 rabbits.

‘When Mossos d’Esquadra arrived at the site, the activists were outside. The 14 rabbits have not been found.’

She added: ‘There were some farmers at the scene and there was tension between the two groups.

‘Mossos separated them and escorted them from the premises to avoid further conflict.

‘Just before 11pm, we were informed that one of the windows of an activist’s car had suffered an impact – and that a girl had injuries to her face as a result of the broken glass.

‘The window was most likely struck by a forceful object, due to the nature of the impact, rather than a shot from a shotgun.’

Meet Neytiri. She is one of the 16 lives rescued from the action this weekend. She was spotted immediately by our fantastic vet @shakirafree, spinning round and around in circles in her cage with her head tilted, showing clear signs of E.cuniculi, a parasite in the ear caused by filthy living conditions. . We took her to the vet and they confirmed she is only a couple weeks old. She is now on a course of antibiotics, anti-inflammatories and anti-parasites and depending on the severity of her condition and how long she’s been like that, she will recover in a few days or weeks and her head will return to the upright position again! She has such a character and is so full of energy despite the discomfort she must be in from all the disorientation and muscle strain from her neck. I will post regular updates about her and the others on my stories and if anyone wants to help with the vet bills and sanctuary costs, I have put the fundraiser in my bio! . These 16 are the lucky ones. After actions like this we get to home but for them there is no way out. We only managed to find a home for 16 beforehand, so had to leave thousands of mothers and babies behind. They will be trapped inside those cages for their entire lives, their only escape is when they are shipped off to a slaughterhouse to be murdered for their flesh and fur. Rabbits like these are also abused for animal testing, tortured for a lifetime before eventually getting murdered too. They are also regularly kept as ‘pets’ often in solitary confinement and inappropriate conditions suffering from boredom and multiple other health issues. . What we do the animals need to end immediately. This injustice has gone on far too long. We will continue to enter in these facilities to expose these horrors and liberate the beings trapped inside for as long as it takes. We are not going anywhere. Join us in our fight, be vegan, be active and let’s put an end to this once and for all.

I mean I’m still not really sure how I feel about this one. You can’t go around stealing stuff just because it doesn’t align with your ethics. Personally, I’m not a big fan of huge economic disparity as a result of capitalism, but you don’t see me going into a Mercedes garage and trashing the place.

Also, I don’t really know who to believe in all this. You don’t know how exaggerated things can get, especially with people on Instagram virtue signalling and looking for clout.

Or maybe Mia is telling the truth. Who knows.

Fundamentally, though, a load of rabbits needlessly died.

Someone think of the rabbits.
