Liam – who is not my girlfriend but my friend – once caused a huge ruckus in a hostel over his snoring.

We’d gotten back to our dorm late one night after getting on the tinnies and within seconds of climbing up the ladder to his top bunk, he was conked out fast asleep. Within seconds he began to snore.

I say snore but that word simply isn’t’ strong enough to describe how loud the noise was that was emanating from his top bunk. It was like a pneumatic drill; an endless, monotonous drill that’s sole purpose was to destroy and upset.

I unsuccessfully tried to roll him onto his side but it was to no avail. After about an hour, some American bloke jolted upright from his bed, screamed ‘YOU’VE GOT TO BE F*CKING KIDDING ME’ and ferociously shook Liam until he awoke from his slumber.

There were some fisticuffs but ultimately I managed to calm both parties down.

I say this because it shows how infuriating snoring can be – and the volatile situations it can lead to. With that in mind, a Florida woman has been arrested for reportedly shooting her snoring boyfriend.

That’s right, Lorie Morin, 47, has been arrested after police determined that the row escalated because a man was snoring loudly.

Footage from the scene showed the victim, named by police as Brett Allgood, being airlifted away on a stretcher.

Thankfully, Brett is in a stable condition. I mean he still probably snores his head off so he’s not perfect.

According to an affidavit seen by the Daily Mail, the victim says that as they argued, he walked into the bedroom where Morin followed him, pointed a gun at him and fired.

It reads: He heard a loud boom and woke up lying in a pool of blood with excruciating pain coming from his right armpit area.”

It should be noted that while Ms. Morin was in the interview room, she attempted to show emotion by covering her face with her hands and crying, but she never shed a tear the entire time during any of the interviews.”

Speaking to ClickOrlando, a neighbour said:

“I’ve talked to her a couple times and she’s always been really nice, and so the news is kind of shocking on it, honestly.

“To hear that it was over him snoring is kind of shocking. It’s kind of crazy.”

Morin is being held at the Brevard County Jail without bond.

For 25 of my 26 years on Earth I’ve been single so I’ve never really known if I snore on a regular basis.

I do, per my very annoyed girlfriend. Before reading this story I passed it off as something funny but now I’m genuinely worried about sleeping in the same room as her again.

I’m staying at her tonight as well, ffs.
