Introducing the new-age gran – super-glam, fresh faced and manicured, young enough to be mistaken as their daughter’s sibling.
Alice Vasquez, Californian, brunette bombshell, fell pregnant with her first born when she was only 16 years old, welcoming her second child only three years later.
Now a gran, Alice says she would like to use her recent milestone birthday as a bid to inspire other ladies to keep living life to the full no matter your age or the stigma that surrounds being a gran.
In-keeping with this, Alice caught the eye of younger bodybuilder, Andre, via Instagram and they quickly began dating. Alice, 40 and Andre, 34 were not only catching each other’s attention but also the attention of ‘haters’ or ‘trolls’ that were keen to cast negativity on the duo.
Buff Andre was soon subject to criticism, accused of taking steroids to develop his stature and physique.
Whilst it is not uncommon for this type of commentary on platforms such as Instagram, Alice has since removed all traces of her new partner from her profile to avoid the negativity.
She told Daily Star Online: “The guy I’m currently dating he saw me on Instagram and he knew a mutual friend we both knew and she connected us.
“Even though we have a lot of differences, when it comes to lifestyle he has been the most motivating for me physically…
“We are both into health and fitness.”
Alice, like many new couples, would love to share her blossoming romance online but says that “people really need to stop thinking they know your whole life from a portfolio page of pictures and captions. You don’t know anyone’s story or what they are going through. Instagram is not all real life or the complete story”.
Alice explained: “He’s 34, I’m 40 – I still can’t get an older man. Young guys just like me…
“It feels really strange that at my age the only guys that have had the courage to ask me out have been really young – 24, 26, 27, 30.
“I can’t date anyone that is my daughter’s age!”
“[People] were so rude! I posted Andre and had to take pictures down because they were so judgemental of his appearance and size…I got tons of people asking why I’d date someone that does steroids. It’s a big stereotype to see someone his size and think it’s all fake – but he really is a sign of strength and discipline”.
“Most rude, insecure people that don’t understand what it is to maintain a healthy lifestyle are usually quick to judge and assume”, states Alice in a recent interview.
Like it or not, Alice and Andre are here to stay and say that they won’t be spending any more time dwelling on the opinions of others as they team up on a new business venture.
[Andre] works in the CBD business [and] [has] [done] for many years and is making me some great connections in my upcoming line”, says Alice.
Alongside their common interest in keeping in shape, both Alice and Andre have similar business ideas.
Alice hopes to launch a new CBD company, as well as a wellness website dedicated to finding your path in life in the very near future.
It seems the pair will do so in unison and hope to keep out any creeping negativity from their next venture together.
